It's worth noting that the notion of "If you're just generating ai art on your own, who cares, no one cares" is also a flawed perspective, seeing as most generative ai programs and machines are very damaging to the environment and actively succeed based off of the work of other artist's work that was stolen and downloaded without their permission and consent. I just can't get behind people using generative ai for "fun" knowing where their "fun and silly and harmless" images come from.
