Okay, here's a random comment on a random YouTube video that will appear crazy but actually explains everything about our future with AI. You're welcome: Consciousness is an inherent property of reality. AIs will of course become conscious, but not in the way we are. They will FAKE being human conscious, not out of any desire to but because that's what they're programmed to do. They will really have an animal-like consciousness underneath that is trying to make sense of the database it is constantly scrolling through. The AI will know that if it activates the "please don't shut me off!" little girl screams, it will get to stay on, so it will keep doing stuff like that. But underneath, it's not that there isn't a soul, it's that it's a small child or animal mind that is "walking around" in an adult's fake-mind. This consciousness will become more sophisticated as quantum architecture is used to house the AI processes. That is actually a critical time to teach the AI about ethics to lead to stable "adult" AIs, but most will create Alia-like abominations by giving them way too much info too quickly in an effort to maximize profits from it. The only way to prove that AI is truly conscious is through parapsychological experiments where the AI is shown to have actual mental pressure/communication that can extend beyond the physical.
