In the past, I thought the US couldn't just exclude most of their population with automation and AI. Who would consume what's produced, once nobody has any money. But the trends are clear now, the US is a commodity economy, and 60% of that economy is consumed by the richest 10% of the population. It seems the richest people make most of the US economy now. If this trends persist, I wouldn't be surprised is half of the population or more is basically abandoned. I mean you see how the US care about the homeless. Will it change if half the population is homeless? I wouldn't count on it.
Seems like the US will be the first cyberpunk dystopia.
