Having the experience of existing is consciousness. So many people unfortunately equate consciousness to emulating human dialogue and logic. The opening scene asking if we would be upset learning that the first speaker was actually a chatbot on video, shows the fundamental lack of understanding of what the question even is. The more I watch these the more I feel that most people have not actually read the emperor's new mind or even worse, have a concrete comprehension of what the definition of consciousness is.
