In the immediate future, AI will replace mostly white collar jobs including programmers, etc. Eventually, if the intent is to replace a large percentage of the workforce, unemployed people would have to get paid, so that they are able to buy the goods and services the big corporation offer. The structure of the government would have to evolve in such a way to accommodate this future!
