Did you just come out of the womb knowing how to animate 3-d OR did you train your technique by repetitively doing exercises and copying art that you'd already seen, and was that art copyrighted? If it's option 2 then you're doing nothing different than what the machine is doing. AI is merely a tool, if you're not willing to use the tool you're going to be left behind. Your argument about having the artist train the AI to replace the artist isn't anything that hasn't been going on for literally thousands of years, that's exactly how apprenticeship has worked since the Greek era-- the artist trains a protege to do the style so the artist can focus on business, and if business is really good he'll train a few more and have a workshop. Will AI devastate art jobs? Yes, it will, as does all new technology in the fields that technology is employed, but it won't kill it rather it will merely thin the herd of those not capable or willing to learn the technology. As a 3-d animator your best bet is learning the new workflow: have the AI animate the character and then go back and fix and tweak what you didn't like in the AI's representation, and then when you've saved yourself 95% of the time on your animation projects you'll realize that human touch is still necessary but for the important parts of the work, not the entire work, and the AI has just saved you gobs of time on reptitive tasks and your company tons of money in the process. Also, if you think people that have no talent or skill are going to succeed in AI art you're dead wrong, AI isn't going to generate a masterpeice, at least no more often than drawing a royal flush from a deck of cards, it's still going to require a highly skilled artist to merge it together, fix problems, and tweak results-- at least if you want a professional end result. The artists, animators, cinematographers and musicians that survive will be those that realize they're no longer an artist but a director.
