I think when people say "its okay to reference right?" they dont talk about how they generate imagies because it would help them draw an object its more about how they see a cool AI generated imagie on pinterest for example and they want to draw it themselfs. In my opinion this is not supporting AI but turning the souless AI art into actuall art so I would say its fine
