Kinda late but i have a weird take. I do agree that *generative* AI is probably not a good thing (except for maybe a better email spam filter but i dont mind a few extra spam emails if it saves a bit of the planet so maybe when it gets more efficient id support it more) but I really dont see the point of image generators. While (not an artist, software dev though I have the same issue, AI is stealing my open source code) AI does use similar technology to other useful things (like better image filters), using it to generate images I think, is not a good use. It is just sad that AI is being pushed by people who care about what will get VC money than using it to make lives better, instead they are slowly ruining the people who made their products possible.
