So... as per the whole "it is going to get everybody killed" thing... essentially, the AI will make a really dumb decision, but nobody will question it, because believe computers are magical truth telling devices incapable of making a mistake Just think of it like having Civil Engineering, Water Treatment, Waste Services and Air Traffic Control being controlled by AI... and the AI derps in a way that AI will generally derp--and now you have something declared a national disaster Like, there are all kinds of _REALLY_ important bits of stuff being handled, that most people generally don't actually think too much about. That is unless it is not being ran well--then _everybody_ knows about it. This mixed with the only people inclined to question the integrity of computer decisions being X-Com and Dwarf Fortress Players... could run into disaster levels of disaster Like... I joke about doing something that replaces Init.d/systemd/etc on a major Unix Workalike system with a heavily modded Dwarf Fortress to have the Dorfs handle all the background processes--then set this up as a Mail Server, File Server, FTP Server and IRC server... then just see the chaos that happens. This is because I recognise it as a terrible idea, and don't see it as causing too much overall damage The issue is if you have AI handle--well, I cannot think of any examples, as again, the stuff AI's stupidity would cause massive issues have humans behind it going, "uh... no... let's not do that, okay?"--and as a result I never know about it actually being a thing Again... Waste Services, Water Treatment, various parts Civil Engineering, Air Traffic Control, Power Grid handling and so much these operate entirely on the Buffy the Vampire Slayer Apocalypse type scales. With us never knowing how things are--because somebody can say, "I don't think so Tim" But again--the issue comes from people being all, "the computer is a magical truth telling box of ultimate certaincy"... and the computer not being anything like that... and AI being really really derpy with its decision making abilities
