I think the real problem is that while AI is taking jobs, the people being put out of work won't get paid. If AI and automation takes out jobs, how are you going to pay for the things that AI and automation are producing? If robots did all the work and we got to lounge around all day enjoying the fruits of their labor that'd be one thing but there are no procedures in place to make sure that the people who used to work in industries being wiped out by AI and automation will still be able to provide for themselves.
