What I realize listening to Dr. Hinton is that he has very little idea of how technologies are actually applied. He is probably a brilliant researcher. A lot of what he seems to be assuming is not rooted in ground truths of the challenges and costs of adopting "AI" however he is defining it. AGI and ASI seem to be ever more remote as we learn more about how hyped AI has become. Still, the greatest enemy of humanity is itself. AI will just be a tool to accelerate our self-inflicted demise.
