I think we need to realize that having a job is simply synonymous with access to resources.
The "job market" is not a social welfare program. It is a mechanism by which businesses acquire the human labor they need to perform tasks that machines and AI can't.
As AI gets increasingly more sophisticated year by year, it will be chosen by the business community over humans. Humans are expensive pains in the neck.
As humans are dismissed from the labor market in greater numbers they will still need a steady income to buy the products and services the automated economy produces.
Some kind of UBI will need to be implemented.
