No current AI has consciousness. Large language models (chatbots) are completely reactive. If you don't provide any input they don't function. They don't exist in any tangible sense.
If or when AI is proactive then they may simulate the illusion of consciousness. Illusion, by definition, is not real. It's impossible for AI to ever have true consciousness. And the same is true if you reverse the question. It's impossible for humans to be like a computer. We cannot process data as fast as the most powerful computers ergo it's impossible for humans to behave like computers.
