The prevailing attitude I often seen with tech bros is that they don't just hate artists, they hate anyone that has had to cultivate skills. I think the root of the problem is this psychopathic desire to automate everything so that we are easier to control.
Artists are often people who think outside the box and communicate ideas in ways that words cannot convey, and I think because of this that tech bros believe that sort of thinking threatens their power. Its for a similar reasons as to why they hate higher education, and call them "indoctrination centers".
Tech oligarchs want us to be dependent on systems they create so that we cannot challenge them, and unfortunately it's working. Name a service or a product that isn't owned or dependent on the existence of a billionaire owner.
