There are also two very important things to keep in mind about this:
1- image generators do NOT generate Art. Art is a form of expression (usually of emotions), and programs don't express anything, they only mathematically transform one set of data (your prompt input) into another set of data (the output images). It doesn't even matter at all if the output images are beautiful or interesting. That doesn't constitute art. What is built by an artist through a process of creative expression does.
2- those programs are not even AI, they're image generators. The term "generative AI" is a weasel misnomer that is convenient for advertising. An LLM is indeed AI, because, unlike other regular programs, it can mimic a certain behavior from intelligent beings (i.e., it can sort of have a conversation with you). An LLM is an AI built on top of a generative program, but generative programs don't mimic any kind of intelligent behavior on their own.
