Just wanted to point out, that AI Companies are not earining milions - they are LOSING bilions. If I recall properly, openAI currently has "net worth" of about 1.3 bilion dollars whist having earned about 200 milion during its whole existence. In other words OpenAI is net negative of about 1.1 bilion dollars. How is this possible? Simple, the "value" of the company doesnt come from it earning money, but from the excuses it gives. It allows tech companies like NVIDIA to increase their prices on consumer products (like GPUs, CPUs or RAM) to absurd levels by saying "look hwo much the AI industry needs these parts, its not worth it to sell them to normal people" meanwhile the money that OpenAI will buy all those processors with comes from a "donation" that NVIDIA did to them so it all comes full circle. People generally call it the AI bubble and if u wanna know more, I advise u to search it up, even on YouTube as quite a few people more proficient in the topic than me covered it, but the short of it is that AI is absolutely losing money directly but can allow everybody to artificialy increase their prices and to fire whoever they want to, with the excuse of "AI doing it better".
