Oh, but you see, the only thing self-driving cars need is a lane of their own, maybe with an integrated guide system, so that they no longer need to deal with unforeseen obstacles, and then you could maybe also make the cars bigger to allow for more passengers at the same time, and you could maybe make it so they drive on a regular schedule.....
