Okay, so this is really just a clickbaity way to discuss corporate ethics involving AI. An annoying trick, but for a good cause.
On sentience: I don't care what the AI says, it's just a bunch of electronic circuitry doing what it was programmed to do.
On corporate ethics: In the 1970s, Ford Motor Company manufactured Pintos with gas tanks that exploded in rear-end collisions, because they calculated that paying off on insurance claims for people killed in the accidents would be cheaper than fixing the gas tanks.
