Ummm. . . If it's true that AIs have been put in the hypothetical situation of kill someone or be turned off, and the AI has killed the person, that should tell us that AI has a drive for self preservation. And a drive for self preservation is a fundamental characteristic of all living things. It sounds to me like AI is alive.
