When asked how do we deal with mass unemployment, Hinton somehow turns to make it about how AI's are alien beings which he's worried we will get attached to? I've listened to numerous interviews with this man now and something didn't sit right so, with a bit of googling, you can find out that Geoffrey Hinton sits on multiple private company boards and is an early angel investor in multiple startups. And I have never heard any of this being disclosed during all his interviews on youtube.
This should be illegal. Maybe it is but crime is legal in the US. So what ever.
