AI technology is not there yet, but it doesn't mean it won't get there. The hardest part for AI is to interact with another human being (ie. fast food drive-thru systems). It's simply too complex for AI to understand "accents" and various grammar mistakes. I hate it when I call a customer service (ie. banking), and I get this automatic person asking what I am looking for today, and then try to suggest solutions. It simply wastes MY TIME and customers get frustrated. Most people just hit "Zero" to be transferred to a customer agent anyway.
