I think he's failing to understand that even if he won his case and got the copyright for his work and thus was able to sell it with legal protection against 'theft' then his art would become worthless. The second you open those floodgates, make it so that anyone can copyright their AI art pieces, then his would just be buried under the tide of other generated content and would be worth nothing anyway.
