It all matters on how people define "robot", If they are just unfeeling machines then is probably in our best interest to let them improve ,but if we develop true AI then that standards fall. In my opinion what makes us human is our brain or mind so if we develop other mind through other similar process (AI) then the AI deserves the same human right as all humans so it's unethical to create one for the sole purpose of being a slave to us.
