I don't understand the double standard with regards to music vs art either. it's not legal to knowingly or unknowly use copywritten music but it's completely fine to take someone's art without consent or credit which one may have spent hours to create and put there heart into? I have a small following but it's much harder for artists at my level to be taken seriously and it's easier to silence small creators vs bigger creators, I've already experienced a taste of being unfairly singled out hence it can be quite scary to speak out against unfair unethical practices of any sort, as discriminatory practices are alive and sadly well on other platforms. however, I did share my thoughts via Instagram stories plus a few other posts. thank you for sharing you're thoughts & speaking on this, It's a relief that artist who's work I respect and admire are finally speaking up about this rather than applauding this A.I. due to lack of information. I never used the A.I. as I immediately noticed the unethical unfair use of these tools, I watched a video a few months ago in which I saw an artist type a specific name of another well known artist into the prompt box and then watched as the A.I. generate a very similar style for the final image, next I thought wait a minute how is this okay! isn't that copyright infringement? I then thought uh oh I'm not using that, not in it's current state, perhaps if it's modified to include payment as well as protection from copyright infringement it can be useful otherwise no thank you, I'm not against the ethical use of technology but I'm certainly not for taking someone else's work and claiming it one's own, I'm also not for reducing job opportunities for artists or reducing opportunities for people in general to find work in the future in favor of unethical technological advances 💙🎨
