They keep forgetting that computers are profoundly stupid. Large language models hag gotten very good at guessing what word should come next based on the massive amount of data they can access. They still have no idea what any of it means. This is NOT "Artificial Intelligence." It's little more than ELIZA on steroids. It can PRETEND to be intelligent. To a point. Clearly a LOT more development needs to be done on it before it will stop chasing up blind alleys and diving down rabbit holes and just making stuff up. Everybody want this to be easy. In the '70s we thought all we had to do was throw enough processing power and memory at the problem and A.I. would solve itself. We did that. THIS is what we've got. It's NOT Intelligent.
