My brother and I tested it, and expressing gratitude weirdly enough does change ChatGPT’s responses. Having a demanding or rude tone makes it shorten its responses and try to end or redirect the conversation. Being kind lengthens the detail of its responses and almost humanizes the tone. There was one time that the AI wished me good luck with what I was doing and expressed interest in progress updates/success.
