Yeah, good luck. You'd have a better chance of reigning in guns and passing sweeping gun legislation than to pass anything that would slow down the march of technology progress when it comes to porn. Yes, its terrible that it happens to unwitting people, taking famous faces and putting them on nudes (which Photoshop has been the culprit of people doing that for decades, but now AI makes it as easy as clicking a few buttons), or even worse when it happens to underage girls. The genie is out of the bottle, there is no putting it back. How is anybody going to enforce any laws in which thousands of AI images can pop up every second from anywhere in the world? I think the only real way around it, maybe, is to use AI to fight AI. In a sense, I've seen where some AI innovators have tried using the tech to be able to spot other AI generated things just to try to combat the fake shit. Other than that, somehow we need a way to encrypt our images we put out there online. If its your face, if someone tries to save that image, screen-grab it, or whatever to use that face in an AI generation tool, that there is some sort of encrypted code within that image that makes it unusable somehow? Or at least trackable? Like, I imagine if you post your pic on social media, if someone saves that pic or screen-grabs it, you're notified and you can at least tell what social account grabbed your pic. Something like that. Someone way smarter than I ever will be is going to have to figure something out. The problem is again, this can be done from anywhere in the world, so how are we going to enforce any of our laws against AI manipulation to some dude in China or Russia or wherever else?
