AI is capable. Will it be cheaper than human developers? Why should it? If there is profit to be made and all the AI companies own all the models why would they give it away cheap? All of the model usage will be metered and the nickel and diming with be even more efficient. After all these are the same cloud companies that figured out how to charge for data transfer which is an essential part of running applications. Was it cheaper to use cloud services? It is always about money.
