I would assume if I asked artist to draw me exactly the same frame they would do their best to replicate it. Now more interesting would be if the prompt was something along the lines of "give me Dune inspired trailer poster" and see the result. There are other costs to include. On both sides, like time spent for artist on both learning and drawing and machine initial machine learning. But I would say that what matters is the end costs for customer. If I need good enough representation of my idea put into image, the time and cost will really be lower to use AI generated image, than finding artist with suitable style, one that has commissions open and costs less than a monthly subscription (if free version is not good enough). Unless I need some very specific style, which AI can't emulate. Granted the quality will be somewhere completely else, but so will the price and timeframe of delivery of said image. But let's stick with the textile industry... I could buy myself a super high quality shirt made completely from scratch by human, it will cost a lot, if they don't have one I like I will have to wait for them to make it. Or I can buy myself a bland machine made shirt, that is good enough quality for the money I am willing to pay. Now granted I would not go out in a shirt that has one sleeve longer than the other etc. (yes I know there are some fashion pieces like that...), but that is up to every other person if they put the AI generated image in something public and be laughing stock or not. All that said though, I do agree that uncredited and unpaid machine learning on artists work is wrong.
