AI is merely a tool and depending on how people use that tool could be for good or worst that's the thing no one really knows and these people who fear AI only do so because they don't understand the tool and that's why they hate it because someone else does. Any true artist would understand the fundamental principle of art is to innovate to take something that already exists look at it and think what you can possibly do with it. The tools are merely there to help you achieve that art was never really meant to be a profession to profit from like how video games was never a hobby to be profited from yet people found a way. The thing why art is a innovative profession that requires innovation is because stagnation is the killer of art for art to stagnate results in people becoming disinterested and what happens when everyone is disinterested well no more things get produced and art dies out. Art currently before this AI stuff was on a dying path it already became so stagnant that people was buying a banana duct taped to a wall and calling it art. Now with the tool of AI you can literally look at anything and think "well maybe i want it to look like (enter prompt)" or "i would like to change part from X colour to Y" as long as you keep it somewhat simplified for now AI can easily do it for you i have tried it and it is so good stuff that would take possibly months to edit done in a few mins.
