I know things might seem bleak, but I choose to remain optimistic. The reason AI slop generators are able to do any of this is because the process of creating new laws for technological advancements is slow. It's why the internet used to be a wild west when it first came out. Imagine if scammers back in the day said the same things tech bros are saying now. "Scamming old people out of their money is the future! You're just coping with the fact that the future is leaving you behind!" They'd probably feel pretty stupid after laws and advancements made it harder to include a trojan in your email or steal your information just from clicking a link. What we need to do is encourage more regulations on AI. Laws need to be in place to prevent these tech companies from stealing art. AI CAN be the future. Just not the future of art. It's so stupid how people are pining to replace a medium that doesn't need to be replaced when there are actual uses for AI that would be more beneficial. MRI scans, predicting the stock market, etc. People don't realize that this AI "art" craze isn't sustainable. On top of needing actual art in order to function at all, they need crazy manpower to keep it running. That's why there's so many coding bootcamps and recruiters popping up. They're begging someone, ANYONE, to come work in coding to keep this shit afloat. "ANYONE can become a coder! Please, for the love of god, come work for us so that our investors don't get disinterested and pull our funding!" It's so sad that people want to support something that does literally nothing for us except make life more depressing.
