bottom line of everything is the equation of duality: seeking pleasure in pain results in more pain. Unless humans come to terms with why we chase desire (the escape of pain through pleasure that in turn results in pain) we will feed AI that was created in that image. However, I do agree too with the takeaway line...humans can be grateful that we have the ability to be kind. This overrides pleasure seeking as a first option.
