ai is getting better, and there's some cases where it's replacing people I low key am happy are being replaced. Japanese anime is starting to use AI to do their dubs to other languages rather than rely on localizers who seem to have decided that being activists is more important than just translating the anime. I like the Idea of using a provided pool of images and asking AI to fill in the gaps. for instance, doing animation. The animaters can draw the characters, feed the ai their art and say "take these and move this character from here to there while doing this" if you're using ai to do transitions rather than just do the whole thing, it becomes a time saving tool. You know how many hours a day Japanese animators spend? if they could get ai to do transitions competently, that would save them days of work...and in some cases their lives. shocking number of animators and anime artists destroy their health by pushing themselves constantly. I'm excited about the animation getting better. I look forward to being able to take a book I love, input it into AI and have it spit out a series of movies true to the book. so it looks like what I pictured while reading it. Holywood would not only never do the book I'd love to see made into movies, they've proven they'd totally dork them up with their garbage hot takes or half assery. The Blue Adept series made into movies would be epic. Even one of the most recent books i've read "this quest is bullshit" would be awesome. they'll never get made. but if AI can improve enough, maybe I can do it myself.
