The age of automation. Everyone wants $80 an hour, "raise the minimum wage," and expects no consequences. This is a "just learn to code, bro" moment. It's unfortunate for truck drivers, but their jobs are becoming obsolete. At a minimum, it revolutionized.
Sure, there's sympathy for them, obviously, but there's a cap on logistics costs, and the human element is one of, if not the most expensive aspects of it.
Sad to see, but it is what it is. Teach your children to pick jobs free of AI takeover. We're decades, maybe centuries, away from a robot performing home remediation, installing electrical conduit, or trimming trees. Women will have it harder, as many of their jobs are easily in the target of AI.
