Back when Chat GPT first came out I gave it a shot to have it answer some technical questions. Once I saw that it fell flat on its face I never used LLMs for actual research again. If I use one (and I don't think I've used one in like 2 years now) I'll use it to find the question I need to ask a search engine to find more materials on the subject.
Remember, a LLM will generate what a correct answer *looks* like, not what a correct answer *is*
