This time unfortunately its different due to the nature of the technology. AI is essentially a "robot" specifically designed to replace a human at thousands of different tasks and you have Billions of dollars of resources and the smartest minds in the world competing to develop this ability. This is more akin to a 2nd industrial revolution than a new gadget. There will certainly be new jobs created where humans help to implement AI into corporate processes but that will pale in comparison to jobs eliminated. If you have college age kids they should be getting into the trades, electricians, HVAC, plumbing because any computer work or repetitive mental work that follows any kind of formula or logic will be automated. Accountants, Paralegals, Journalists, Data Analysts, Software Engineers are gone
