As an artist, I think artists cope too hard about this. I realized this when I looked for reference images for characters and over and over the most consistent and accurate representations were AI art. I want to master the perfection that AI art strives for, I hate the culture of praising amateur artists with objectively bad end results just because a human made it while breath taking images generated by AI make people pearl clutch just because AI made the image. I strive for results, not false confidence or pushing a Dunning Kruger Effect on artists that think their art is better than AI art when it’s not. But to each their own, my art is for non artists to enjoy, for the end result, not for pretentious artists to study and judge my process
