I don't mind if people want to use AI art, you know. That's their prerogative and occasionally it's a better alternative to splurging money you probably don't have on refs from manual artists until they can afford a proper refsheet or commission. It's when AI "art" is unorinically being called art is where it bothers me. I am moreso an aspiring artist myself and drawing and figuring out a style takes a long time, I still don't even have one; however, the idea that when I do find a style and it is blatantly copied by an AI in an image that's created in less than 10 seconds... it irks me. There's so much AI stuff out there that has an uncanny valley effect, including that little 'short' the "AI Art expert" posted. The expression from the guy seemed off in a way I can't quite explain but I know something about it is wrong. Finding a prompt to create exactly what you want may not exactly take 5 seconds or something but it also doesn't take a day. It's no more art than it is a child cramming as many colors as they can inside of the lines until it starts to look like *something*. There's no real effort. The style is stolen and unoriginal by default. Each prompt is just another scan of a pre-existing image shoved into the generation whereas each pencil stroke is a deliberate and experimental action that is unique all by itself even if it is not part of the end-product. Went on a tiny rant there but man... AI. Just-... AI.
