There are two reasons why Big Cos. attribute layoffs to AI -
1. Because the market will reward any evident sign of AI led efficiencies.
2. To beat down labour self-esteem and bring down how much employees value themselves. If staff think they can be easily replaced by AI, they're much easier to manage.
