One thing I wish people using this tech would understand the fact that all of your hard work and learnt knowledge can just be taken and replicated all without your consent and made meaningless hurts. To me my art is a part of me it carries years of hard work, emotions, my interests, and my flaws, it’s a foot print and echo of myself at the time of making. these ai replicate all of that whole sale and keeps all of that and it being able to do so quickly makes it meaningless how could something I spent years learn working hard at mean anything when others can make 1000s of it all in a few minutes. It hurts to see that and has easily became a new worst fear that I didn’t think I’d have. i or any other artist shouldn’t have to “just be ok” with our work being use to train these data sets it isn’t fair that we’ll have to be ok with our art being scraped just because we want to share something we’re proud of. It’s fine if ai art stays a thing just let us choose weather we are included in the scraping of data so we can post online without worrying that if we get too good or become too well known people will take all that we worked on and throw it in to a machine and make 1000s of it. If others want to be included that’s fine many might not mind or not see it as I do but I don’t want to be included in that and I have the right to not want that. And I will not be looking at the comments of this I do not what to argue a simple request and my emotions with you for hours. Editing real quick just to say people need to understand that no artist learnt how to make art in a day it takes years of hard work of in many cases wanting to give up doubting your but going on anyway to get where any of them are. Industry artist take 4 to sometimes 10 years. No one is born with the ability to draw master pieces THAT. IS. A. MYTH. Some people lean faster but that’s it. Talent isn’t real it’s a lie but that should make you feel uplifted because that means you can still do it you can still learn to create. Ai artist say their democratizing artist and making it so anyone can make art even those “without talent” but talent is a lie you can learn to become an artist and everyone even those they think of as gifted learnt how to do it and took years doing so. If you don’t have the money to start you can draw on your phone with your figure most people have phones and if you don’t even have that and your in school right now you have a pencil and lined paper you can start learning with that. I’ve heard of people burning a twig and using it’s charcoal to get started. you don’t need your art to look pretty and perfect at the start it’s going to take a while for you to even like it enough to post it anywhere and by then your situation might change. If your disabled I’ve seen many people my self included (adhd) that have learning disabilities become amazing artist, and I haven’t done enough research but I’m sure you can find a with other disabilities. It’s just shitty to see this lie that I already had a problem with also become to excuse and reason for this tech to exist.
