Hey, Sam. I just wanted to say, the way you have been treated by those bullies in the AI community is absolutely unacceptable and disgusting. As a fledgling artist, I have a deep, deep admiration for you and your work, and I want to tell you what you already know: You're an incredibly upright and brave person for continuing to sound the alarm about this issue despite the harassment you've endured for it. Keep on being an example to all of us; you are a hero. God bless you. Also: The vultures in silicon valley are currently abusing laws that were NOT created with this kind of technology and socioeconomic framework in mind. Legal systems are reactive by nature; they of course won't regulate behaviors that don't exist yet, and current copyright laws were designed to protect humans from being preyed on by other humans. Thus, it's up to the art community to make noise, make lawsuits, and force the existing legal framework to evolve in response to this. AI technology needs to be regulated, or else it could be used to drive masses of people into bankrupcty — not only artists, but also programmers, architects, accountants, designers — literally no profession is safe. Visual artists simply have the dubious honor of being the canary in the coalmine because they have always been one of the least understood and most abused professions. So thank you so much for doing what you are doing. If everybody in the world had your sense of integrity, society wouldn't even be having this discussion right now.
