I usually turn off the AI suggestions unless I have it in a clear context when it will make sense and I feel lazy. Otherwise it makes up variables, file names, functions, as if from some bits of code it saw randomly on Stack Overflow. It sometimes blunders ahead with nonsense, breaking my concentration. It's like a toddler offering to help you by scribbling on your work with their crayons. Occasionally a precocious toddler, but a toddler none the less. Recently working on an IPYNB file, the Copilot agent also deleted all the cells after the row it was 'fixing.' Half the code was gone. When I pointed that out, it apologized profusely. Like that did a lot to fix its mistake. Fortunately I was able to restore the cells from a prior checkpoint. I then banned the agent from making code changes -- it could only offer suggestions in the chat window that I could copy and paste (or not). It actually wrote a little contract to that effect at the end of the notebook. Which, of course, it then ignored.
