The AI arms race issue is, that AI can replace a lot of those companies and what they provide. So they have to try and be a player, and competitor, if they don't "stay" relevant.. they risk literally "going away" no more legacy, no more future for the companies they raised like their own children. Sure, you could save money now but ignoring it, but then a decade from now.. someone buys you out.. and then its almost too late or a insurmountable task to try to catch up.. so no.. all hands on board.. It's sad.. but I understand it.
