AI will replace a lots of jobs but the human factor will always be present. Yes, AI can create an image of a purple elephant riding a bike, but why? AI by itself will not generate the image, there is no motivation by AI to create that image. Why a human would decide to create such image of a purple elephant riding a bike? For fun, or for capturing other human attention with something that crazy? Who knows the motives a human can have for creation. The creative side of AI is not creation but mimicking past human creations. If there is no a human that ask AI to create or generate something, AI will not do it. The only thing AI can do is follow an algorithm that is triggered with some event. Whitout the event nothing happens. Yes AI will be way more efficient at doing certain things like repetitive and boring things human don't like. Think of data entry job. Let me know if you know somebody who enjoy doing data entry for 8 hours a day. Human to human interaction jobs will survive. Imagine a 6 years old girl that need a blood test. Imagine a humanoid robot approaches her with a seringe and a needle. Maybe or possible this humanoid robot will do a better job at taking the blood sample than a human nurse. However for the girl, there is no way to substitute the nice and loving nurse with the cold android. I don't think humanity and human relationships can be replaced by AI. IMHO. AI will create a society where people will be working just for fun. Example, why some people have a garden in their backyard if you can go to the supermarket and buy the same products you are growing at home? So some people will enjoy watching TV all day without doing anything. You don't need AI fro having those kind of humans. On the other hand you have humans that will not be happy without doing something productive even without compensation. So, I think AI will initially replace millions of jobs but not all. AI will lower the cost of almost anything imaginable and with human input will find cure for illness that we are not able to find at least for too many years. The human asking AI to find a cure for cancer is needed in order for AI to find the cure. Without the human asking, AI by itseld lacks the motivation to find it.
