.. WHY does Google fire anyone who brings up concerns around (AI) ethics? Because a) no matter what kind of 'push back' Google provides, as a multi-national, international/global corporation - it simply doesn't give 2 figs about ethics. b) employees of Goggle aren't paid (or given bonuses) to be ethical, they're paid to be 'profitable', to profit Google (& by extension, profit themselves.. supposedly) c) that policy & the actions of Google are contradictory .. hardly a surprise, I'm afraid. Google, like the vast majority of multi-national/international corporations, wouldn't know what integrity or ethics are, except if it happened to be 'profitable'.. period.
