I'm sure he understands, when he's talking about how an AI tries to "manipulate people" because it wants to continue.. that doesn't mean it's making any kind of conscious independent decision for self preservation. It was either prompted to try and justify it's use, or coded in a way to try and keep you using the product. I think we need to be careful about making statements that make it seem like AI has actual feelings. So many tech giants have been trying to create this idea because it makes people curious and drives them to use/purchase the AI product. I think we need to always remember.. Elon, Zuckerberg, Altman, ect.. are selling you a product, of course they will hype it up to the extreme. Not saying AI isn't advancing at a crazy rate, just saying.. keep in mind who's selling the product and their motive to exaggerate capabilities or make it seem like AI is already basically a sentient lifeform.
