I see a lot of people comparing how artists use reference material to AI scraping data and I just need to say this. AI is a fancy collage maker. Cutting and pasting images is not the same as referencing art for inspiration. Let’s not anthropomorphize these cut and paste algorithms to pretend they are “drawing” anything. No body’s stopping you from picking up a pencil.
