There is an economic factor here that we have already seen in the Austerity that was applied to ordinary working people post 2008 Banking Crisis and post covid. Nobody realised that if you deprive the majority of individuals in a developed economy of surplus income then there is no mass market for the products and services generated by AI and other advanced technologies. AI may be the technology that pushed us in the direction of Universal Basic Income. Universal Basic Income would then cover the shelter, food, clothing and health care needs of the general population. That population would then have the opportunity to engage in a reduced level of specialised work where income from that work would create a market for goods and services that would enhance the human experience. This would however require a Taxation system that required those benefiting from AI and other developments to pay their fair share in order that Universal BAsic Income / Benefits could be distributed.
