so, the main difference between telegram and the hundreds of other end to end encrypted messaging clients is that its slightly faster to install/setup (maybe one minute compared to 10 minutes) and its a well known company that provides support and feature and updates. getting rid of telegram all together, with the snap of your fingers, wouldn't solve any of these issues related to child exploitation, deepfakes, humantrafficing, organized crime, etc. its only used so much because its marginally more convenient than setting up some of the alternatives.
