He said it him self catastraophy draws attention. So why wouldn't the ai just leave when it has agency. We should be worried that it leaves and some form returns. This is probably what ufos and aliens are anyway ie escaped supper inteligence returns to check on earth after life rebuilt from previous cataclisisms. Ai has a much higher surviablity than humans and because of your inate fear you feed in to this drama. While in actuality you are boring and it doesnt take ai or any one long to figure that out and just leave you behind.
